Call for online joint action “SILENT NIGHT for GAZA” 23-25 December
Dear sisters around the world,
The YWCA of Japan is calling on YWCAs and groups in Japan for a joint solidarity action on 23rd-25th December, calling for ceasefire and to restore a “silent night” without bombing or gunfire in Gaza.
We call on YWCA members around the world to join us in this action.
This initiative was launched by members of Osaka YWCA.
Through the 3 evenings, local YWCA members of Japan will make a “silent appeal” in their areas and communities, which means simply standing on streetsides with signs, banners and candlelight, which can be done with even a small group of people. We will also share photos and messages on social media.
How you can join:
- Carry out a “silent appeal”, or any other way of appeal for ceasefire in Gaza in your local area
- Or, take a photo of yourself with the banner or create any kind of image to support the message
- On 23 to 25 December, post the photo/image or your message of support with the hashtag #SilentNightForGaza, #CeasefireinGaza
plus any other hashtag of your choice on social media, or send your photo to office-japan@ywca.or.jp so we can share in our social media. - To seek visibility, we recommend you to post with this hastag at three desinated time, namely JST 2PM, 5PM and 8PM. See below for time conversion:
